EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Awarded Environmental Remediation Multiple Award Contract with the U.S. Army
Hunt Valley, Maryland (23 July 2013)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has been awarded an Environmental Remediation Multiple Award (ERMA) contract in support of the U.S. Army Environmental Command and its customers. This 5-year contract has a maximum joint total acquisition value of $240 million to be executed among 8 contract holders in the Small Business Portfolio. The contract term consists of a base award of 1 year plus four 1-year options. Work is expected to be conducted throughout the United States, including the territories of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Under this performance-based, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract, EA will provide broad spectrum environmental investigation, remediation, and munitions response services at various installations/locations supporting the Army’s Environmental Cleanup Strategy. Task orders may include activities such as site characterization and remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, remedial action construction, remediation of contaminated sites, operations and maintenance, and long-term management. This contract will support various programs including the Installation Restoration Program, Military Munitions Response Program, Compliance-Related Cleanup Program, and Base Realignment and Closure Environmental Restoration Program.
EA was also awarded the first task order under the Small Business Portfolio, which was the Firm-Fixed Price sample task associated with the contract, to complete a remedial investigation/feasibility study for vapor intrusion at the Aberdeen and Edgewood Areas of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. EA will prepare a conceptual site model to address site conditions, including contaminant sources, their movement in the subsurface, exposure pathways, and potential receptors; collect samples; perform risk assessments; and identify risk mitigation/management alternatives for the sites.
“EA is very pleased to have this opportunity to continue to support the Army and its environmental cleanup objectives. We have assisted the Army with its environmental and munitions cleanup program at a variety of locations, such as Fort Monroe, Virginia; Red River Army Depot, Texas, and Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico,” said Brenda Herman, P.G., Vice President and EA’s Program Manager for this contract. “The ERMA contract enables us to build upon our longstanding record of success.”
EA’s Fritz Meyer, Senior Vice President and Director of Client Programs, added, “Due to its broad environmental scope and geographic reach, securing an ERMA contract is a significant achievement for EA. We are particularly excited about working on the first task order at Aberdeen Proving Ground.”
