EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Becomes a Charter Member of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure
Hunt Valley,   Maryland   (18 January 2013)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has become a charter member of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). Based in Washington, D.C., ISI is a not-for-profit, public interest organization dedicated to sustainable infrastructure at the municipal, regional, state, and federal levels.
As a joint initiative of the American Council of Engineering Companies, American Public Works Association, and American Society of Civil Engineers, ISI is structured to develop and maintain a sustainability rating system for civil infrastructure in the United States. This rating system, called EnvisionTM, was created through a joint collaboration between ISI and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (Cambridge, Massachusetts) to help designers, builders, and infrastructure owners direct infrastructure projects toward increasing levels of sustainability. Further information about ISI is available at www.sustainableinfrastructure.org.
“Charter membership in the Institute affirms EA’s commitment to further support the development of sustainable civil infrastructure in the United States,” said Michael Battle, EA’s Chief Operating Officer. “The EnvisionTM rating system provides an intuitive framework that draws on sustainable concepts to help establish civil infrastructure priorities. We are excited to work with partners in the public sector, academia, and industry to support ISI in continuously improving and expanding the use of the EnvisionTM rating system.”
