EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Helps Promote Clean Waterways in Lewisville, Texas
Hunt     Valley,     Maryland         (30 November 2012)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it participated in the 2012 Trinity Trash Bash, a major community cleanup event hosted by Keep Lewisville Beautiful and sponsored by the Trinity River Environmental Education Society (T.R.E.E.S.) to raise awareness and appreciation of the Trinity River, Lewisville Lake, and 16 local creeks that feed into these waterways in Lewisville, Texas.
On Saturday, 17 November 2012, EA joined with Keep Lewisville Beautiful, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and 29 other regional groups that work with T.R.E.E.S. to help promote clean waterways. “We collected semi-truck tires, construction debris, and bag after bag of household garbage,” said April Ballweg, an EA Project Manager who served as EA’s team coordinator for the event. “Our team gathered so much trash that it could not all be hauled back to the onsite commercial dumpster. The City of Lewisville had to send a flatbed trailer and a crew back to the collection point to gather the remaining piles of debris. In fact, our Dallas office wound up winning a first-place trophy for the most trash picked up by a small group in the adult division.”
Roger Place, Vice President and Director of EA’s Central U.S. Operations, added, “We are excited to support this waterway cleanup event, as it is reflective of our corporate commitment to improving the quality of the environment. Even though our company is a new participant in the Trinity Trash Bash, EA’s Lewisville office staff have routinely supported a variety of community involvement activities, including toy drives, shoe drives, and canned food collections, to mention a few.”
Trinity River and Lewisville Lake play a huge role in supplying water to Texans. The river is 715 miles long—its collection basin covers 17,965 square miles over 17 counties, and it is the primary water source for millions of Texans.
