S. Ali Abbasi, Senior Project Director at EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., invited to serve on the American Water Resources Association’s Policy Technical Committee.

Hunt Valley, Maryland (13 January 2010)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA) announced today that Mr. Ali Abbasi has been invited to serve on the American Water Resources Association’s (AWRA) Policy Technical Committee.

A graduate of the University of Maryland and Texas Tech University, Mr. Abbasi’s 26-year career has been dedicated to water resources management. “Ali’s knowledge and experience in organizing ecosystem and watershed restoration projects and programs has been instrumental in realizing planning and compliance projects that are both environmentally favorable and cost-effective for our clients. We at EA are proud to have him contribute his expertise to AWRA in support of its important mission,” said Mr. Ian MacFarlane, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Abbasi has provided technical expertise on hundreds of water resource projects both in the U.S. and abroad. His experience also includes water quality and environmental regulatory compliance programs in Maryland and adjacent Mid-Atlantic States. He is currently managing water resource activities for multiple state and county watershed management agencies.

Through community involvement, conversation and connections, AWRA promotes the advancement of water resources research, planning, development, management and education. The Policy Technical Committee provides a forum for national experts to compare and learn from their varied geography and approach to water resources planning. The committee meets at least once a year at AWRA’s annual conference and communicates throughout the year through a listserv.
