EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Announces New Slate of Officers
Hunt Valley, Maryland (17 February 2017)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is pleased to announce the promotion of seven managers to the position of Vice President. The officer appointments, made possible by EA’s continued growth as an employee-owned environmental firm, are emblematic of the career advancement opportunities available to its employees.
In making today’s announcement, Ian MacFarlane, President and Chief Executive Officer commented: “EA has a deep bench of highly talented and accomplished professionals, which allows us to promote from within. The seven executives joining EA’s roster of corporate officers are as follows.
Robert (Bob) Casey, Vice President and Manager, New York Operations—A 15-year EA veteran, Bob has overall responsibility for client development, technical project quality, financial performance, and staff management for EA’s 3 New York offices (Newburgh, Oswego, and Syracuse). His career has focused on managing multi-disciplinary teams in the characterization and remediation of hazardous and petroleum wastes for a variety of government and private sector clients. His expertise in the area of vapor intrusion investigation and remediation is utilized by clients throughout the country. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Humboldt State University.
Jason Echelle, Vice President and Controller—Jason has over 21 years of finance and accounting experience, and has been employed by EA for more than 16 years. In his position, Jason manages the accounting of all financial activity at EA. This includes daily plan administration of EA’s 401(k) employee retirement plan and Employee Stock Ownership Plan. He is also responsible for the preparation of EA’s financial reports and facilitates all corporate audits. In addition, Jason oversees the company’s payroll and accounts payable departments. Jason earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from West Liberty State College.
Richard (Rick) Hanoski, Vice President and National Service Line Program Manager, Munitions Response Services—An 8-year veteran of EA with 39 years of military and industry experience, Rick manages EA’s national munitions response services platform and is responsible for client development, contract acquisition, project execution, staff mentoring, and technical expertise. A 20-year Navy veteran, Rick is a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and a Certified Quality Auditor through the American Society of Quality. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of La Vern. An advocate for industry, Rick currently serves as president of the National Association of Ordnance Contractors.
Christopher (Chris) Kerlish, CPEA, Vice President and Manager of EA’s Mid-Atlantic Environmental Health and Safety Management Practice—Chris has 28 years of consulting experience, 17 of which have been at EA. His expertise is in the development and implementation of regulatory compliance programs including environmental management systems, compliance audits, employee training, and risk management. A Certified Professional Environmental Auditor, he is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Chris earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Farleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
Brian O’Ferrall, CHMM, Vice President, Air Force Programs—A 7-year veteran of EA with over 26 years of experience, Brian provide program management support to the U.S. Air Force via contract vehicles with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and General Services Administration. Orchestrating all phases of client support, he leads EA’s project managers in task order proposal development and negotiation, project planning and implementation, work product review, and financial reporting. As program manager, Brian leads all phases of contract administration, including compliance with contract provisions, manpower reporting, small business subcontract planning, recordkeeping, and closeout. A Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Brian earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Dale Schlautman, P.E., Vice President and Manager, Nebraska Operations—Dale began his career at EA 24 years ago. For the past 15 years, he has been managing EA’s Lincoln, Nebraska office. He has a wide breadth of consulting and engineering experience, including water resources management and design; groundwater evaluation; water, wastewater, and stormwater management and design; site characterization and remediation; ecosystem restoration; and agricultural design. Dale holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Nebraska. He is a registered Professional Engineer in nine states.
Jay Snyder, P.G., P.E., C.Hg., Vice President and Manager, New Mexico and Colorado Operations—Applying his 28 years of experience, 8 of which are with EA, Jay manages the operations of EA’s offices in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Denver, Colorado. Jay specializes in risk-based corrective action, applying a wide variety of remedial technologies. He is a Professional Geologist in nine states, a Professional Engineer in Colorado, a Certified Hydrologist in California, and a Licensed Soil and Groundwater Remediation Contractor in New Mexico. He earned a Master of Science degree in Geologic Engineering from the University of Idaho, a Master of Science degree in Geology/Geophysics from New Mexico State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville.
