EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Continues to Add Depth at the Senior Technical Level

Hunt Valley, Maryland (4 March 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today the hiring of Dorthea Hoyt, P.E., PMP, as a Senior Project Manager. Her immediate responsibilities will be to apply her expertise in Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) regulatory compliance and remediation on EA’s portfolio of projects associated with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Superfund program. Dorthea is located in EA’s Denver, Colorado office.

During her 20-year career, Dorthea has provided management and technical support on a variety of complex environmental investigation, remedial design, and cleanup actions at CERCLA sites under contracts with the EPA and U.S. Department of Energy. She has considerable expertise in the area of soil removal and containment, including the design and construction of landfills, geosynthetic liner systems and caps, and soil covers. Her experience also includes building decommissioning and demolition, remedial process optimization, and long-term monitoring and operations. Throughout her career, she has successfully addressed the challenges associated with the assessment and cleanup of a wide range of contaminants and hazardous substances such as insecticides, pesticides, organic solvents, polychlorinated biphenyls, metals, potential chemical agents, radiological wastes, ordnance, explosives, and chemical warfare materiel. Dorthea has worked at such notable Superfund sites as Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado, Gilt Edge Mine in South Dakota, and the U.S. Magnesium site in Utah.

“Dorthea brings to her new responsibilities a deep background in the execution of remedial actions at CERCLA sites,” said Roger Place, EA Vice President. “Her addition reflects EA’s continued efforts to attract exceptional talent to our senior technical team, and we are excited about the contributions she will be making at EA on behalf of our clients.”

Dorthea earned her Bachelor of Science in Geologic Engineering and Master of Science in Ecological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute.
